Terms of Service

1. Who can use PBMaestro

You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live) and able to form a binding agreement. If you use the Service on behalf of a club, you confirm you're authorized to do so.

2. Your account

Provide accurate information and keep your password secure. You're responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.

3. Clubs, directors, and events

PBMaestro lets club directors organize clubs and run events. When you join a club or register for an event, you agree that the club's directors and our administrators can manage your participation — including your roster membership, event registrations, lineups, match results, and your starting rating — and can contact you about clubs and events you take part in.

Clubs and directors are independent organizers. PBMaestro provides the platform but is not responsible for how a club is run, the conduct of its members, or in-person play.

4. The PBMaestro rating

The Service calculates a community skill rating from match results. It is intended for fair local play within PBMaestro only — it is not a tournament rating and is provided "as is" without any guarantee of accuracy for any external purpose.

5. Payments and fees

Some events charge a registration fee, and some clubs pay a platform fee. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe; we don't store your full card details. Where a fee applies, PBMaestro may retain a platform fee, disclosed at the point of payment. Refunds follow the event's terms — for example, withdrawing from a paid event you registered for may issue a refund as described in the app.

6. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the Service: no unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent activity; no attempts to break, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer it; no impersonation; and no interfering with other members' fair use. We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these Terms.

7. Communications

By creating an account you agree to receive service messages necessary to run the Service (e.g. confirmations, password resets, and messages from your club's directors). Marketing emails are optional — you can opt in at sign-up and opt out at any time.

8. Deactivation and termination

You can deactivate your account at any time from Account settings; login is then disabled while your historical records are retained. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or to protect the Service or its users.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that ratings or results are accurate.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PBMaestro and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid us in the past 12 months or [AMOUNT, e.g. US$100].

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We'll post the new version with a revised date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING-LAW STATE/COUNTRY], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled in the courts located there, unless local law requires otherwise.
